C.V. Edition by Christian Vorderegger

Growing up on a mountain farm, Christian has always loved to be out and about in the forest - whether scrambling into the trees or with a self-made bow.

Wood rocks!

This is his motto - be it the forest with all its possibilities, be it the material itself and everything that can be made from it. His love of wood has accompanied him all his life and led him to an apprenticeship as a carpenter.

After a wild youth, he met his wife and fell in love with climbing, started a family and his own carpentry business.

Christian took up archery in 2015: it was the new passion that he wanted to pursue to perfection instead of climbing! Because archery is tailor-made for him. After just one year, he had already won his first tournaments and in 2017 the IFAA World Championships in Florence! There he also got to know and appreciate our Sigi.

"What fascinates me is the perfect shot, when you can feel before you release: everything fits and the arrow goes exactly where you want it to! You can feel that physically, it gives you goosebumps."

Christian Vorderegger

But for the perfect shot, you need the 'perfect' bow. So the idea of a collaboration in the field of bow making grew out of the new friendship. But that was easier said than done! We developed, produced, tested and then started all over again, because a world champion like Christian is anything but easy to please:

The bow must be heavy, long, cut across the middle, fit perfectly in the hand, be fast and have virtually no vibration - and it should also look good!

But after two years of tinkering, our C.V. Edition was finally ready to masterfully fulfill Christian's high standards for the 'perfect' bow. In addition, every C.V. Edition bow is personally tested, signed and prepared for shooting by Christian after completion.

Our Competition series is ready for the market

After 2 hard years of development together with our partner Christian Vorderegger, the reigning World and European Champion in the IFAA, SPIDERBOWS now presents the C.V. Edition.

The DUAL system – risers of the C.V. EDITION by SPIDERBOWS

Thanks to the new, innovative DUAL mount for limbs and the manufacturer-independent ILF connector system, every archer will find the perfect setup for them.

With a traditional take-down bow, it is difficult to replace the limbs with other models. As a rule, you are limited to the respective bow model and its limbs - universal screw limbs and systems are not common on the market.

If someone wants different limbs, they often have to buy a completely new bow.
If you want to switch from a take-down bow with bolted limbs to ILF limbs as a budding archer, you will inevitably have to say goodbye to your current bow and find a new one.

What if you could just keep your riser and switch between screw-in and plug-in limbs as the mood takes you? With the DUAL-System by SPIDERBOWS this is no longer a problem. This system is as ingenious as it is simple: only the limb mounts ultimately decide whether screw-in or ILF limbs can be used.

To make this decision as easy as possible, SPIDERBOWS has made the mounts interchangeable. All SPIDERBOWS grips with DUAL system therefore do not have a classic limb holder ex works, but only a mounting option for the respective limb holder, which can be converted and replaced in a few simple steps.

The DUAL mount is a versatile and well thought-out option that is housed in a metal block. This creates a closed system that offers many advantages. One of these advantages is the lateral adjustment for the alignment of the ILF limbs, which is integrated into the metal block. This effectively prevents cracks as, unlike other models, the screw is not located directly in the area of the wood.

ILF mount, tiller and limbs

In addition, there are tiller screws that have an additional ring and a movable head to optimally guide and fix the limbs. The tiller allows the bow to be adapted to personal requirements and the draw weight can be adjusted by approx. ±3 lbs.

However, the ILF mount has a little more to offer: Due to the requirements of the different sets of rules of the various archery associations, an internal grub screw has been added to the tiller bolt, which serves as an additional locking mechanism. This allows the tiller bolt to be locked in the desired position.

As is well known, a very smooth shooting behavior, in addition to very good limbs, results precisely from these properties. In addition, a completely newly developed limb with the highest quality SPIDERBOWS sandwich.

Special materials with bamboo core form an aggressive and fast limb that is very smooth to pull and forgiving with black optics on the inside and solid visible carbon without glass reinforcement on the outside.

The bows are built in lengths of up to 68 inches (soon to be 70 inches) so that shooting comfort and accuracy are optimally combined. However, those who prefer classic short bows will also find their perfect bow here.

The high-quality and precise ILF mount is also ideal for all those who want to combine technology and tradition. ILF systems from SPIDERBOWS are accurate, high quality and compact, just like an Olympic recurve.

The lateral adjustment for limb alignment takes place completely in the metal block and avoids cracks, e.g. when adjusting the limb in a tensioned state, and the sturdy tiller bolt with the additional edge guides the limb optimally.

The special features and properties

As with all ILF systems, the poundage can be adjusted by approx. plus 3 minus 3 pounds and the tiller can be optimally adjusted to personal requirements (Mediterranean grip, undergrip, flight characteristics, etc.).

However, our ILF mount has a little something else to offer: we have incorporated an additional locking mechanism to meet the needs of more or less questionable regulations. In other words, as soon as the tiller bolt has been turned to the desired position, it can be locked in place by means of an internal pin in the tiller bolt, which is the standard version.

If you want to ensure that this setting can no longer be changed from above, or ensure that the setting always remains exactly the same even after x vibrations, then simply remove the block by loosening the 3 fastening screws and use the screws supplied to fix the block to the side clamping screw connection and reinstall the mount. Nothing earth-shattering but practical.

Stabilised wood and SPIDERBOWS sandwich limb construction also achieve their goal in the longbow sector. The result is a fast, easy to shoot and above all heavy longbow for tournament archers or anyone who prefers optimum comfort.

In all these developments, attention was always paid to value for money. This Competition version naturally belongs to the upper segment, but it is hard to beat in terms of value for money.
